Sometimes a paper product goes on to a printing press and sometimes it goes directly into the end use application. Either way it must perform. Most often paper is put to the test with different stresses and loads. Challenged to carry weight and survive press operations that place a high demand on the strength characteristics of the product. Failure of the product in any of these scenarios is unacceptable. For that reason the paper manufacturer pays particular attention to the strength characteristics of the product. Having dependable and easy to use evaluation tools is essential to papermaking.
